My lovely and talented cousin, Ann Thomas Johnston, points out a promising development across the river in Arlington, Virginia –


Mike Boyd, my new son-in-law (did I mention that Liza is married?) mentioned it a few weeks ago as a place we need to try, so it’s been in the back of my mind while I’ve been shoveling snow.  The closing line – “smoked meats from $4.75 to $45.00” – is troubling, to put it mildly, and the author’s failure to identify how the meat is cooked is characteristic of the Washington Post’s restaurant reviews.  On the other hand they apparently have much-neglected spare ribs.   It is definitely on the to-eat list.
