Your Holiday Shopping Guide

I imagine that some of you haven’t finished your holiday shopping. I’ve justcompleted my own Christmas shopping this year, almost two weeks ahead off my usual start time, and I feel pretty smug. But this is a time for charity, so here’s a barbecue-related shopping guide courtesy of the Barbecue Bros. You can find all sorts of sauces, rubs, utensils, hats, buttons, koozies, and t-shirts. This one caught Nancy’s eye.

Of course she realizes that I, not being a Texan, don’t barbecue brisket, just pork; and I use hickory (and sometimes local oak from the neighbors’ front yards). So I’d need something else. Now she’s looking for a t-shIrt that says, “MY HUSBAND SMELLS LIKE PORK BUTTS.”

Don’t forget to stop by the Campaign for Real Barbecue site and click on “merch” for some great gift ideas. There’s something there for everyone, even the Grinches out there.

Thanks to Dr. Reed (see his comment below), here’s a better link for the merchandise. Note: if you join Zazzle, shipping is free. It pays to join.

The main things to think deeply about, though, are what we are — or should be — celebrating.

Oh, and shop locally and support your neighborhood restaurants. They’re good people, and they really need your help.

      1. I think the link goes to an option to customize. I have hesitated. I did buy a t-shirt that says, “Mama Tried”. Not really anniversary material.
