Here they are, as promised, the Top 10 Cheesesteaks in the Philly Region.

Not according to me, but according to Barry Zuckerman of the excellent BZ Maestro Eats blog. Unlike me, Barry has eaten cheesesteaks all his life, and he’s analyzed the cheesesteak exhaustively. To compile the list, he personally ate at the leading 50 or so cheesesteak places during the course of a single year, and the Top 10 post includes links to every last one. You can follow his analysis. This actually may be the most authoritative Top 10 list ever. There’s also a list of the Top 5 Cheesesteak Rolls and the Best Pizza I Ate on the Cheesesteak Trail.
There’s a lot more to BZ Maestro Eats than cheesesteaks, and the level and range of his blog is much, much higher than the cheesesteak topic suggests. You should bookmark the list for future travel, and you also should subscribe to BZ Maestro Eats. It’s very well written and thoughtful, and it covers all sorts of topics, many food-related but also classical music, sports, and popular culture.

Nice of you to share his post. That’s a lot of research!

It’s amazing how it almost seems like something out of the past already. I’m not lining up my next cheesesteak for the first time in ages.

I have a note on your call for Maryland barbecue suggestions on what I thought would be my first post after the cheesesteak lists, but it involves Jewish deli and I didn’t want to put it up during the holiday. I should have switched it over to the burger and shake post, but I forgot. It should be up tomorrow since the holiday ends tonight.

That would be nice, but you might want to wait until after Yom Kippur to pair barbecue and a Jewish deli, unless your’e short of things for which to atone.
